Suspect wanted in aggravated assault

HARLINGEN — Police say Juan Manuel “Sonny” Sosa is on the run after he and another suspect allegedly assaulted a business owner recently.

Harlingen police are currently trying to locate the 33-year-old.

Sosa has an active felony aggravated assault warrant for his alleged involvement in the assault that occurred on Jan. 11 in the 1500 block of N. Business 77.

According to police, after the assault, Sosa and another suspect, who has been arrested, fled the location in a dark blue Jeep Cherokee.

Police said Sosa and the other suspect left their victim wounded.

The victim was later transported to the hospital to treat his injuries.

Police did not release the name of the other suspect.

No further information was available as the investigation is ongoing.
