Cameron County Judge Eddie Treviño Jr. says all county offices will open two hours later on Wednesday because of the forecasted freeze and winter weather.
“Because the winter weather advisory will bring extended periods of freezing rain which can cause travel difficulties, county offices will open at 10 a.m. on Wednesday,” Treviño said in a statement.
He said all emergency personnel and essential employees will still need to report as scheduled or be on call tonight and into the day tomorrow.
Treviño also ordered the temporary closure of the following five county beach access areas:

County Beach Access #4
County Beach Access #5
County Beach Access #6
Boca Chica Beach
These county beaches are being temporarily closed to pedestrian and vehicular traffic until noon Wednesday due to inclement weather. Visitors are urged to follow the “flag advisory system” signage.
