The utility company says service crews are on standby to respond if outages do occur.

AEP Texas is asking customers to conserve power especially during the early morning between 6 a.m. until 9 a.m. and again in the early evening from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.

Customers are asked to do the following:

Set thermostats at 68 degrees or cooler; so, heating/air conditioning systems are not using as much electricity.

Close blinds and curtains to keep heat inside.

Avoid using dishwashers, washing machines and dryers.

Turn off lights in rooms not being used.
