HARLINGEN — Another strong cold front will move into South Texas on Thursday evening, creating potential gale-force conditions with wind gusts above 50 mph in coastal areas.
Strong and gusty northwest winds with building hazardous seas are expected to develop behind the front Thursday night into Friday morning, forecasters say.
Sustained winds will be close to gale force (39 mph) with frequent gusts as high as 52 mph during that time.
The gale watch advisory will be in effect in both coastal and bay waters from the mouth of the Rio Grande north to Baffin Bay.
Seas will be seven to 10 feet near shore and between 10 and 14 feet high offshore.
