SOUTH PADRE ISLAND – This Veterans Day — Saturday, Nov. 11 — Friends of Animal Rescue will be hosting their 3 rd Annual Tails on the Beach — “a celebration of man’s best friend.”
This dog- and family-friendly event will be held at Clayton’s Beach Bar & Grill from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Friends of Animal Rescue, joined by several Rio Grande Valley shelters and rescue groups, will bring their furry friends to the event – all ready for adoption.
There will be two parades — morning and afternoon. Both will be showcasing these adoptable dogs.
The Paws Walk will take place at 10 a.m. on the beach, followed by a pet fashion show, an adoptable animal parade, “My Favorite Dog Breed” art contest awards, and special exhibitors.
This year’s exhibitors include a training session from the RGV K9 Training Centre, “Ask the Vet” with Dr. Dean Joines from Pet Care Veterinary Clinic, and Grooming 101 with Vicki Moreno from South Bark Grooming.
Christ’s Harbor Church will be hosting activities and face painting for kids at the Kid’s Corner.
An agility ring — an exciting new addition to the event hosted by RGV K9 Training Centre — will be available to pet owners at noon. There will also be a $5 micro-chip clinic.
