Recycling by the Bay returns to help keep things clean

LAGUNA VISTA — It’s time to do some good for the environment.

Recycling by the Bay is back.

Residents needing to unload recyclables can do so this Saturday, outside city hall.

The Recycling by the Bay initiative is a joint effort between the city and the Republic Services.

Recycling by the Bay happens twice a month and allows residents to do their part in the environment by reducing their carbon footprint.

The bi-monthly event was scheduled Oct. 28 but was put on hold for the inaugural 5K that took place.

Now, the event will continue to its regular scheduling.

Recycling by the Bay is a chance for residents to dispose of recyclable objects and learn more about the impact everyday trash has on the environment.

Republic Services will provide their trucks ready to take recyclable items from residents.

Aluminum, tin, newspapers, cardboard and plastic are all among items that are being allowed to be disposed of.

According to the town website, Laguna Vista is urging its residents to make every effort possible to recycle.

The large trailers will be posted on the vacant lot outside city hall during the morning every second and fourth Saturday of the month.
