Suspect indicted in Spring Break fatal DWI on South Padre Island

A Cameron County grand jury has indicted a Sugar Land woman accused of plowing into a bike lane around 1 a.m. during Spring Break on South Padre Island, hitting five people, killing one.

A Cameron County grand jury has indicted a Sugar Land woman accused of plowing into a bike lane around 1 a.m. during Spring Break on South Padre Island, hitting five people, killing one.

Daisy Joy Decker, 21, faces nine counts in the indictment, including manslaughter, intoxicated manslaughter, accident involving death, intoxicated assault with a vehicle causing serious bodily injury, two counts of accident involving serious bodily injury and three counts of accident involving injury.

One of the pedestrians involved in the accident, Selena Maria Patino of Los Fresnos, later died.

Decker is scheduled for arraignment on Dec. 6.
