More Cameron County residents showed up Friday for the last day of early voting than any single day while the polls were open.
In the election for constitutional amendments, 395 people cast votes Friday, bringing the total early vote to 2,216.
As for Cameron County’s special election, 50 residents voted Friday, bringing the total early vote to 282. Last year, county commissioners placed a proposition to create a Cameron County assistance district on the 2017 ballot. It would create a 2-percent sales tax to fund projects in rural areas.
Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 7.
