Cool temps spread across Valley

HARLINGEN — Morning temperatures in the Valley marked the lowest point on the thermometer since April, forecasters say.

The 6 a.m. readings this morning were 59 in Brownsville, 54 in Harlingen, 59 in McAllen, 60 in Bayview and 53 in Weslaco.

National Weather Service forecasters in Brownsville say high temperatures today will range from 83 along the coast to 85 farther up the Rio Grande Valley under sunny skies.

For boaters, north winds of 10 to 15 knots are forecast along with a moderate chop on the bay. In the gulf, seas will be between three and six feet and small craft should exercise caution on gulf waters from 20 to 60 nautical miles offshore.

Thursday through Saturday will bring between a 20 percent and 30 percent chance of rain each day.
