Brownsville City Manager Charlie Cabler has submitted his letter of retirement to city officials.

Brownsville City Manager Charlie Cabler has submitted his letter of retirement to city officials.

Cabler submitted his letter today, officials said. He has served as city manager since 2004.

Deputy City Manager Pete Gonzalez and Assistant City Manager Michael Lopez will maintain the current city operations until the Brownsville City Commission identifies steps regarding the city manager position, said city spokeswoman, Roxanna Rosas.
