BROWNSVILLE — A 57-year-old Harlingen man is being held on $500,000 bail after he was charged with having sexual contact with two family members.

This morning, Judge Alfonso Cordova ordered Juan Enrique De La Cruz, of the 27000 block of Baker Potts Road, held on $250,000 bail after he was charged with indecency with a child by sexual contact in the case of an underage girl, Gus Reyna, chief deputy of the Cameron County Sheriff’s Department, said today.

Cordova also ordered De La Cruz held on $250,000 bail after he was charged with prohibited sexual conduct in the case of a woman.

Reyna said the sheriff’s department requested bail be set at $1 million for each of the second-degree felony charges.
