BROWNSVILLE — A San Benito woman was arrested after a traffic stop led state troopers to more than $800,000 worth of marijuana hidden in a van.
Ann Marie Martinez, 23, was arrested after a U.S. Border Patrol dog led troopers to 135 pounds of marijuana found in a 2006 Dodge Caravan at about 1:55 p.m. Saturday on State Highway 4, Sgt. Maria Montalvo of the Texas Department of Public Safety stated yesterday.
Montalvo stated seven bundles of marijuana were discovered in false compartments in the van’s floor boards.
Martinez was charged with felony possession of marijuana and booked at the Cameron County Jail.
