LA FERIA— A head-on crash in La Feria left two people dead over the weekend.
The Texas Department of Public Safety says a 2015 white Nissan Sentra was traveling north on FM 506 when a 2015 gray Ford Fiesta traveling south, veered onto the north bound lane causing a collision. The accident happened just north of U.S. Military Highway 281.
Both drivers, Beatrice Yanez, 48, and Javier Leal, 36, were pronounced dead at the scene. The victims were both from La Feria.
There were no passengers in the vehicle at the time of the accident.
DPS is further investigating the fatal crash.
