HARLINGEN — Two people have been arrested and police are searching for a third in connection with a robbery at Home Depot.
Monday morning at 3:50 a.m. Harlingen Police were called to a theft in progress at the 4700 block of South Expressway 83.
Police say the suspects fled the store in a red pickup and headed south on the expressway. Officers spotted them in San Benito and when and when they tried to stop the suspects the men crashed the truck near a canal bank. All of them ran from the scene, but two were caught and the third got away. The men are charged with felony theft and evading arrest.
Officers recovered several BBQ pits stolen from the Home Depot. They say during the investigation, they learned the suspects stole several riding lawn mowers from the business as well.
