San Perlita’s Daniel Garza helped shed some light on a frequently ignored District 32-2A when the senior became the first baseball player in San Perlita High School history to ever sign a letter of intent to play at the collegiate level.
So when the 32-2A All-District list recently came out, no one was shocked at the senior’s inclusion as one of the league’s best players. In fact, the Trojans landed five players on the all-district list, tied with La Villa. Meanwhile, Lasara added two players to the list.
Daniel Garza was named the league’s Offensive Player of the Year while teammates Noah Olivarez and Jaime Zaller were named to the first team. Meanwhile, pitcher Kehran Zallar and first baseman Noah Ortiz were second-team selections.
La Villa notched five players on the list, including pitcher Rey Felix and outfielder Juan Ayala, who were both first-team selections. On the second team, the Cardinals had catcher EJ Garcia, second baseman Joe Gonzalez and third baseman Nathan Mata.
Lasara, finally, landed two players on the all-district second team in third baseman Ernesto Garcia and outfielder Alfredo Rios.
