Small-craft advisories issued for gulf, bay

HARLINGEN — The National Weather Service has issued small-craft advisories for the Laguna Madre and inshore waters of the Gulf of Mexico.

A strong onshore flow which is developing this morning will interact with high pressure over the gulf to create windy conditions along the coast.

Winds will range from 23 to 27 mph with waves in the gulf from five to seven feet high and occasionally reaching nine feet.

The small-craft advisory for the bay ends at 7 p.m. tonight while the advisory for the gulf will remain in effect until 9 a.m. Friday.
