San Benito migrant students will learn to build rockets

SAN BENITO – On Tuesday several young migrant students will receive help with their future college plans.

The San Benito CISD Migrant Program will be bringing in the College 1st Program from Edinburg allowing for STEM College and Career Camp Programs for five elementary campuses.

The program assists migrant students in second through fifth grade.

College 1st works in partnership with school districts to provide migrant students help with their future college and career plans.

During the two day “Mars Journey CAMP,” students will build and launch rockets and have an opportunity to fly drones.

The camps are being held at Leal, De La Fuente, Frank Roberts, La Encantada and La Paloma elementary schools.
