SBCISD board accepts Vega’s resignation

SAN BENITO – Trustees last night unanimously accepted Superintendent Adrian Vega’s resignation.

The move happened during a special meeting of the school board after meeting in executive session.

Vega began working as the district’s leader January 4, 2016. The district says Vega and trustees enjoyed a good working relationship while working closely with district staff members to accomplish several goals.

Vega submitted his resignation last Tuesday during a regular board meeting where he informed trustees that he is pursuing a job opportunity outside of public education.

His resignation becomes effective Friday, June 9.
