Small craft advisory issued for Laguna Madre

HARLINGEN — High pressure over the gulf and strengthening lower pressure across the Plains will create conditions for high winds on the Laguna Madre today.

The National Weather Service in Brownsville has issued a small craft advisory from the Port of Brownsville to the Arroyo Colorado to Port Mansfield and north to Baffin Bay.

Winds from 22 to 25 miles per hour are forecast from 11 a.m. this morning to 7 p.m. today.

Inexperienced mariners, or those in smaller vessels, should avoid operating a boat in the Laguna Madre in these conditions.
