Students compete in 5th annual Elementary UIL District Meet

Students from all across HCISD participated in the fifth annual Elementary UIL District Meet held on Saturday, February 18 at Memorial Middle School.

Stuart Place Elementary took the Sweepstakes win with the most overall points earned.

Over 500 4th and 5th-grade students competed in ten different academic events: Art, Dictionary Skills, Listening, Maps and Charts, Music Memory, Number Sense, Oral Reading, Ready Writing, Social Studies, and Spelling.

Students perfected their skills after school with the assistance of nearly 190 teachers and staff coaching them for the yearly event.

The final placement for each campus is as follows:
