SAN BENITO — The San Benito Police Department said an elderly missing man has been found alive by his family.
Jose Moreno, 82, disappeared around 5 a.m. yesterday from the 700 block of Easy Street, which is the neighborhood off of Lovett Road and Russell Lane behind Walmart.
Yesterday evening, San Benito Police Chief Michael Galvan announced Moreno was discovered by his family walking by a nearby resaca.
Galvan said Moreno, who suffers from dementia, is in good health and doing fine.
Earlier yesterday, police said they had searched the wooded areas and the resaca that borders Moreno’s neighborhood.
Police also distributed flyers to other law enforcement agencies and area businesses.
The chief was worried the elderly man may have received a ride and left the immediate area.
