SANTA ROSA — In celebration of Dr. Seuss’ Birthday, Santa Rosa Elementary has held a week-long celebration of themed activities for its students.
Harlingen Public Library Youth Services Librarian Laura Garza, along with other staff, put on a puppet show for the Pre-K through 5th grade students yesterday in the gymnasium.
The children have participated in activities such as a short story contest on Monday, a poster contest on Tuesday, creative props on Wednesday, a puppet show and bulletin board contest on Thursday and they will wrap up the week with a reading challenge contest on Friday.
Winners for the first three contests were awarded their prizes of a book and poster at yesterday’s event.
