HARLINGEN — Forgot today is Valentine’s Day?
Don’t panic. It’s still not too late.
Plenty of local florists say they are ready to take last-minute orders, whether you want an arrangement of a dozen roses or a basket.
“We’ll be delivering all day and we have a lot of flowers left that we can do very nice arrangements for them,” said Pam Fuller, owner of Bloomer’s Flowers and Gifts in Harlingen.
“They can go on our website and select an order and order it off the website or they can come in and order it in person.”
But if you’re ordering on the website today, you have to do it before noon.
Of course, the most popular gift is a dozen roses. But this year, Bloomer’s is offering what it calls “a premium dozen.”
“It’s a dozen roses with stargazer lilies mixed in the vase with them,” Fuller said.
In San Benito, Honey Beez Flowers and Gifts on Williams Road still has arrangements available.
“We may be limited, but we will still be serving our customers,” owner Martha Trevino said.
If you’re looking for something different, Edible Arrangements on West Tyler in Harlingen says they’ve got you (chocolate) covered.
They offer a selection of baskets that include pineapple, strawberries and chocolate-covered strawberries.
In Harlingen, Spa La Posada operations manager Melissa Guerra said partners looking for the perfect spa package will be able to purchase their Valentine’s Day packages until the end of the month.
The seven gift packages, for men and women, consist of facials, massages, manicures and pedicures.
The packages geared toward men also offer time at the spa’s barbershop.
A $50-valued makeover and a travel cosmetic set also are included in some of the packages.
These can be purchased online or in-store.
Jewelry is always a popular option. The Jewelry Connection on East Tyler in Harlingen says they have what you need, whether it’s for her or for him.
“For the women, I have diamond necklaces, bracelets, pearl earrings. Anything they need, I’ve got it,” store manager Marco Rodriguez said.
“For the men, I’ve got pistols, rifles, shotguns.”
Waiting until the last-minute can mean extra cost, and in particular, a reduced number of choices.
But at least you won’t be in the doghouse.
