HARLINGEN — Police have yet to catch the driver who seriously injured a man and a woman in a hit-and-run last Thursday night.
After the driver hit the two, he or she sped off.
Thursday night around 10:54 p.m. officers responded to the 1000 block of W. Tyler Avenue for an auto-pedestrian crash. When officers arrived, they found the man and woman lying in the roadway injured.
Witnesses told officers a white Chrysler 300 had struck both victims and then continued traveling eastbound on Tyler Avenue, failing to stop and render aid to the victims.
Emergency services arrived on scene and transported both victims to a local hospital for treatment.
Police said they were both in serious but stable condition Friday. They are in their early 20s.
As of yesterday morning, police said the victims were recovering in the hospital.
On Friday afternoon, police found the suspect’s car, which had been set on fire. The white car was found on the north side of town near Briggs Coleman Road and FM 508.
