Police: Los Frenos officers shoot towards, tase suspect armed with knife

LOS FRESNOS — Los Fresnos police say they shot at a suspect while responding to a domestic disturbance on Monday afternoon.

Just before 2 p.m. police responded to a disturbance call on the 300 block of East 3rd Street. When they arrived officers say they found Alberto Camarillo Sanchez, 53, holding a knife and refusing to put it down. They say they fired a taser at Sanchez but it did not work.

Police say Sanchez then charged at an officer while holding the knife and that is when the officer fired his weapon but did not strike Sanchez.

Another officer was finally able to stop Sanchez with a taser gun. He was checked out by EMS and then arrested and transported to the city jail.

Sanchez is charged with aggravated assault family violence and assault on a public servant.
