Espinoza moving up as AEP Texas director of corporate communications

HARLINGEN — Frank Espinoza has been named director of corporate communications for AEP Texas effective Nov. 19.

He will now be responsible for internal and external communications throughout the AEP Texas service territory.

Espinoza has more than 33 years of service with AEP Texas, including 11 years as a member of the corporate communications team.

He currently serves as the community affairs manager for the Harlingen and San Benito area.

Espinoza serves on numerous boards and committees in South Texas.

With the position, Espinoza, a leader in the Harlingen area community, will be headed to Corpus Christi.

“Frank brings a unique perspective to our corporate communications team,” said Judith Talavera, AEP Texas president and COO. “He knows AEP Texas employees, customers and issues from many different perspectives and will help us achieve success as we continue our work to improve safety, our culture and the customer experience.

“Frank will continue the tradition of producing quality creative and strategic communications to ensure our success as we face new challenges,” she continued.

Currently, he serves as the chairman of the Harlingen Area Education Foundation and on the Texas State Technical College Foundation Scholarship Committee, and the Harlingen Chamber of Commerce.

A native of Alice, Espinoza earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies from Texas A&M University—Corpus Christi and an Associate’s Degree in Advertising and Art Design from the Art Institute of Houston.

Espinoza is married and has three children. He will relocate to Corpus Christi.
