A cold front is approaching the Rio Grande Valley, but whether it actually pushes through the area remains to be seen.
Earlier weather models indicated the cold front could pass through the Valley at the beginning of next week, but yesterday some of those models changed and indicated the front might stall before it reaches the area.
Either way, officials at the National Weather Service in Brownsville said a fluctuation in the temperatures will occur because of rain showers and cloudy conditions.
“If the front makes it down here it will be into Monday night, but there are some indications that it might not make it down here or it may be slower in arriving down here,” said Kirk Caceres, a meteorologist for the NWS.
The daytime temperatures at the beginning of the week will be in the 80s, and the overnight lows will be in the lower 70s.
