HARLINGEN — Harlingen’s fast-growing west side is the site of the city’s proposed $1.1 million paving program.

City commissioners today will discuss City Engineer Javier Zamora’s recommendation to pave four roads while considering an alternate project.

Zamora recommended the projects as part of the city’s Street Overlay Program for the upcoming fiscal year.

The list includes:

– Dixieland Road from Lincoln Avenue to Garrett Road at a cost of $556,543

– Bothwell Road from Tucker Road to Dixieland Road at a cost of $128,262

– Drury Lane from Tamm Lane to Altas Palmas Road at a cost of $152,546

– Garrett Road from Tucker Road to Dixieland Road at a cost of $145,084

– Queen Sago Road from Beckham Road to Stuart Place Road, described as an alternate project, at a cost of $197,888

The proposed projects total 2.19 miles.
