Patrick talks Trump: Lieutenant Governor in town to speak to Tea Party group

HARLINGEN — Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick described Republican Presidential nominee Donald Trump as a quiet person who listens.

“I know you are not going to believe that,” he said. “But, the guy on stage is not the same person off stage. He’s a pretty quiet person, he listens and he’s learning … a lot.”

Patrick explained the real Trump to about 70 people who attended a combined Hidalgo-Cameron county Tea Party gathering at the Harlingen Public Library. Much of the audience included Republicans from Cameron County.

Patrick also was adamant that he believes Trump can win, even though he has had a tough couple of weeks.

But, it was Texas Patrick focused most on during a speech in which he received rounds of applause several times.

The Lt. Gov. talked about the successes of the current administration, creating a huge surplus in a state that is the 11th largest economy in all the world.
