SAN BENITO — Police have arrested a San Benito woman in connection with the death of her 7-month-old son.
Bianca Mariah Leal, 23, was arrested on a warrant for injury to a child, according to a police statement released yesterday.
“The warrant stems from an incident that occurred on July 23, 2016, that led Detectives from the San Benito Police Department and Child Protective Services to investigate the circumstances of the injuries to her 7-month-old son which may have contributed to his death on a later date,” the statement says.
Injury to a child is a first-degree felony.
Leal was arrested Friday in the 1400 block of West Business 77 and arraigned Saturday, with Municipal Judge Benjamin Yudesis setting bond at $200,000.
No other information was immediately available.
