RGV Credit Union holds groundbreaking

HARLINGEN – A groundbreaking ceremony was held this morning for the new Rio Grande Valley Credit union.

The company bought the First National Bank building at 1221 Morgan Blvd. and is spending $1.8 million renovating the facility, which should be done by the end of the year.

This morning credit union officials gathered in at the site for the official groundbreaking. Employees will move from the small offices on East Grimes to the remodeled building.

The credit union has four locations, another Harlingen site on West Expressway 83, and two other locations in San Benito and Lyford. It currently has 17,000 members and assets of $85 million, according to its 2016 financial statement.
