HARLINGEN — Firefighters are battling a fire that engulfed three connecting wood-frame houses Sunday afternoon.
No injuries were immediately reported.
Neighbors said the fire erupted sometime after 2 p.m. and quickly engulfed all three homes.
Firefighters were at the scene pouring water into the homes.
One resident, who said her family rents one of the homes, said firefighters rescued three puppies and the boxer-mix mother from a pen at the back of her home.
