Trevino talks with local leaders

HARLINGEN — Local business leaders and mayors from the surrounding cities in Cameron County attended a luncheon with Cameron County Judge-Elect, Eddie Treviño Jr., last week.

The luncheon took place at the Harlingen Area Chamber of Commerce located at 311 E. Tyler Ave. in Harlingen.

Mayors from Los Indios, San Benito, Primera, Rancho Viejo and Harlingen discussed plans of regionalization and issues concerning Cameron County.

“I’m not looking for the credit or the glory, I’m looking for results,” said Eddie Treviño Jr.

Local business leaders from TSTC, Harlingen Medical Center, Valley Baptist Medical Center and the Port of Harlingen Authority also attended the luncheon to welcome the Cameron County Judge-Elect to the Harlingen community.

“Bringing together local business leaders and our elected officials is key to our area’s success,” said Harlingen Area Chamber of Commerce President & CEO, Chris Gonzales. “As a Chamber, this is our responsibility to the members, and we take it seriously.”

The group of representatives plan to meet several times during the year.
