Police department in need of assistance

HARLINGEN — The Harlingen Police Department is asking for the community’s help in finding man who they say stole beer from a convenience store.

The department issued a press release regarding this incident.

At approximately 10:25 p.m. on Dec. 30 an unknown man entered the Stripes Convenience store located at 2305 N. Loop 499 and grabbed two 25 ounce Hurricane Beers from the cooler.

Police said the man paid for one beer, and then fled the store without paying for the second beer valued at $1.79.

The man who police described as Hispanic, approximately 30 years old, 5-feet –eight-inches, and 240 pounds left the area in a small gray four-door passenger vehicle.
