Harlingen man arrested

HARLINGEN — A Harlingen man was arrested after police said he sexually abused a young girl.

Robert Rey Reno, 52, has been arraigned on a second degree felony for sexual assault, with bond set at $500,000.

Police said on Dec. 6 a woman came into the Harlingen Police Department to file a report. The woman told police a 15-year-old girl made an outcry of sexual assault.

According to the report, the incident took place between Nov. 15 and Dec. 5 at a home located on the 500 block of West Polk Avenue.

The report said Reno had inappropriate and unlawful contact of a sexual nature with the girl.

During the investigation police issued an arrest warrant for Reno was located and arrested Jan. 4
