Investigation continues into Elsa woman’s death

The Elsa Police Department and the Texas Rangers continue the investigation into the death of a 49-year-old woman, but no arrests had been made as of Monday afternoon.

Sandra Beltran, 49, was found dead Friday morning at her apartment on Ciro Caceres Avenue in Elsa. A cause of death has not yet been released.

A viewing for Beltran will be held Thursday, Sept. 14 from 1 to 9 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Cardoza Funeral Home at 1401 East Santa Rosa Ave. in Edcouch.

A procession from Cardoza Funeral Home to Val Verde Memorial Gardens cemetery in Donna will take place Friday with a burial at 11 a.m.

Texas Rangers continue to investigate all avenues in the homicide case, according to Lt. Johnny Hernandez, a spokesman for the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The autopsy report in Beltran’s death remains pending.
