The Wednesday morning shooting in McAllen involved a 26-year-old man who suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Police responded to the 6700 block of North 17th Street at 7:29 a.m. that day for a report of a shooting.
Lt. Joel Morales says the man remains hospitalized.
