HARLINGEN — Christa Danielle Gonzalez looked great in her bikini, made all the right moves and answered questions perfectly to become the first Texas Valley Miss Hooters pageant winner.
The competition was held earlier this week.
Gonzalez, a 20-year-old Harlingen resident, said she will be attending the May International Hooters pageant in North Carolina.
There she will compete against 80 other Miss Hooter girls also wanting to claim the Miss Hooters International crown.
“I’m extremely honored and blessed to be given the opportunity to represent the RGV and my hometown at the 22nd annual Hooters International Pageant,” Gonzalez said. “I’m excited to compete against beautiful women from all over the world while giving a platform to the RGV.”
Gonzalez and other Hooter girls from as far as McAllen, Laredo and Corpus Christi competed in the Texas Valley Region pageant at Bass Pro Shop.
The Hooters restaurants were looking for a Texas Valley Miss Hooters to represent the region at the annual International Pageant.
The Hooter girls were judged on culture, swimsuit and their answer to the question on how they would represent Hooters as the official South Texas Miss Hooters girl.
Gonzalez was waiting tables at the Harlingen Hooters restaurant when she found out they were looking for contestants.
She saw the advertisement for the pageant and looked it over after taking some wings and beer to a table full of customers.
And, after thinking about it, she said it was an opportunity she didn’t want to miss.
Pageant judge Lorenzo Hernandez said Gonzalez was not shy and was very professional.
“She spoke like she has been doing this for years,” Hernandez said. “She will represent the RGV and South Texas very well at the International Pageant.”
