The Texas Department of Transportation will hold a public hearing Thursday at Donna North High School on the proposed Texas State Highway 68, which would run from Interstate 2 in Donna to U.S. 281 in Edinburg.
The public hearing will begin at 6 p.m. with project displays available for viewing beginning at 5 p.m. at the high school, which is located at 7250 N. Val Verde Road in Donna.
The proposed project would consist of double lanes running north and south and frontage roads with the possibility of additional main lanes and overpasses to be added in the future.
“The purpose of the hearing is to present the recommended preferred alternative and to receive public comment on the proposed project,” according to a TxDOT public notice.
The proposed highway would run through 102 homes and eight business, according to information provided by TxDOT.
TxDOT last month released the mandated draft environmental impact study which may be viewed at txdot.gov.
