Extracurricular activities and hobbies: I am a member of the Business Professionals of America, Erudite book club, Golf and Student Council. I am also currently the Vice President of another organization known as Mu Alpha Theta. I plan to participate in UIL Mathematics and Mock Trial again this year. I truly enjoy reading and oil painting when I have free time to spend.
What are the pros and cons of living in your city? What would you change? In Pharr, you are a part of a diverse and caring community that takes care of everyone constantly. Every face you encounter in my city is welcoming and encourages your personal success. Our community celebrates our heritage and strives to promote higher educational opportunities for all. However, one disadvantage to living in my city would be the lack of occupational variety since no larger corporations predominately exist in this smaller area.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? Can you imagine yourself living and working in the Rio Grande Valley? Why or why not? In 10 years, I plan to have attended the University of Texas in Austin to receive my degree in software engineering and possibly mathematics. I have considered coming back to live in the Rio Grande Valley once I have a steady income and have quenched my thirst for adventure. The Rio Grande Valley will always be dear to my heart, because it is my home no matter where I may travel.
What kind of legacy do you hope to leave on the world? I hope to teach digital literacy to young girls and encourage more females to pursue a career in technological and mathematical fields. I want to be a positive role model for my relatives and community, promoting programming for all.
