Prostitution sting results in 12 arrests

McALLEN — Police arrested four women and eight men over the course of a two-day prostitution sting carried out Wednesday and Thursday, according to a McAllen police news release.

Police released few details about the undercover operation, and the criminal complaints are pending.

Eleven of the 12 individuals were charged with a prostitution Class B misdemeanor, while one of the women was charged with a state jail felony because she has three previous prostitution convictions. Their bonds ranged from $2,000 to $3,000.
