PHARR — A portion of Owassa Road will be closed next week for utility work, according to a news release from the Texas Department of Transportation.
The closure will occur on Owassa Road between Jackson Road and Sugar Road. A detour will be set up which will divert traffic through Minnesota Road.
IOC Company, a TxDOT contractor, will be installing water lines and irrigation crossings along the road. The water line adjustment and irrigation work — a total of 10 water line laterals and three irrigation crossings — will take place from Monday through Friday, June 30.
During this time the road will be closed to through traffic and only local traffic will be allowed. Drivers are asked to exercise caution and obey all posted signs.
