HIDALGO — U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers working the bridge discovered a large load of liquid heroin, according to a news release.
On Sunday officers working the Hidalgo-Reynosa International Bridge sent a 20-year-old Houston woman for a secondary inspection.
The woman, a U.S. citizen who was not identified, was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado when officers referred her for a second inspection, according to the news release.
After a search of the truck, officers discovered inside the truck’s fuel tank, nearly 200 pounds of liquid heroin.
The woman was arrested and turned over to Homeland Security Investigations agents, the release states.
