Whether it’s a staycation or romantic getaway, residents and visitors can celebrate Valentine’s Day with their loved one in a way that allows them to enjoy the marvels of the area and dine on specialty cuisine.
Several South Padre Island businesses are offering Valentine-themed packages and treats this February.
Beach Resort South Padre Island is offering three Valentine’s packages.
The room only package includes a deluxe room accommodation with a pool view, evening turn-down service with fresh rose petals, decadent chocolate-covered strawberries and a two-hour late checkout for $129 per night, plus tax.
The room, dinner and live music package adds a Valentine’s dinner for two that will be held on Feb. 13 from 5 to 7 p.m at a beachfront venue.
The dinner will have three courses, complete with two glasses of wine per couple.
There will be live cello music by Jenuine Cello.
This package costs $219 per night, plus tax.

Valentine’s by the sea
The Pearl South Padre Resort is also celebrating the holiday by offering a Valentine’s Day package on Feb. 13 and 14.
As part of the package, couples can enjoy an outdoor four-course dinner for two that will be accompanied by entertainment from musician Tina Van.
The main course will be a certified Angus Prime filet mignon topped with herbed crab meat and a rich Béarnaise sauce served on a bed of Potatoes Anna with a fresh medley of seasonal vegetables.
The dinner costs $59 per person, and includes champagne split.

Good eats
From Italian and Tex-Mex cuisines to burgers and an assortment of seafood, there’s something for everyone on PadreRita Grill’s menu.
According to a flyer from the restaurant, it will have free Valentine-themed treats for the ladies on Valentine’s Day.
There’s a free rose and chocolate covered strawberry, as well as a choice of a free mimosa or champagne.
Live music will be held from 5 p.m. till closing.
