You can now expect fireworks every week during the summer at South Padre Island.

The city announced its fireworks schedule has begun and will continue through Labor Day.

Here’s the summer schedule for fireworks at SPI:

>> Every Tuesday and Friday at Louie’s Backyard at 9:15 p.m.;

>> Every Thursday at Isla Grand Beach Resort at 9:15 p.m.;

>> Every Friday and Saturday at Clayton’s Beach Bar at 9:15 p.m.;

>> 4th of July fireworks on Tuesday, July 4, at the entertainment district at 9:15 p.m.; and

>> Labor Day fireworks on Sunday, September 3, at the entertainment district at 9:15 p.m.

“We love celebrating the beginning of summer with a variety of family-friendly fireworks displays over the water for a truly unique Island experience,” South Padre Island Convention and Visitors Bureau Executive Director Blake Henry said in the release.

The release, which notes SPI as the fireworks capital of Texas, also mentions its honor proclaimed by the Texas Senate. That proclamation highlights SPI’s abundance of spectacular fireworks displays for people visiting the city, families and anyone to enjoy.

“We’re proud of our state-recognized proclamation and honor it by enhancing the community and visitor’s viewing experience year after year,” Henry said in the release.
