Make-A-Wish RGV is partnering with Rhodes Enterprise to host its nationwide fundraiser, Walk for Wishes, on Saturday in celebration of the wishes they have granted while also raising funds for future wishes.

Throughout the event, attendees will be celebrating more than 300,500 wishes that Make-A-Wish has granted, including the 1,530 wishes that have been granted in the Rio Grande Valley since 1997.

The event, which was supposed to be held in April, was rescheduled due to severe weather and is now set for 9 a.m. Saturday at the Tres Lagos Park, located at 4350 Tres Lagos Blvd. in McAllen.

Those who want to attend the event can participate in either a 1K walk or a 2.5-mile run, as well as other outdoor activities and music, and enjoy a special guest mascot appearance.

Registration for the event is free.
