Mission man appointed to commission responsible for state buildings

Governor Greg Abbott last week reappointed the president of a Mission construction company to the Texas Facilities Commission.

In a news release, Abbott announced that Eddy Betancourt will serve for a term set to expire on Jan. 31, 2029. His appointment is subject to Senate confirmation.

The Texas Facilities Commission controls state buildings, grounds and property and is responsible for the maintenance, repair and construction of state buildings, according to the news release.

Betancourt, of Mission, is the president of R&B General Construction Co. Inc., the co-owner and president of National Tire and Wheel, LLC., and a general retail partner manager for E2H Investments.

He is also a member of the McAllen Board of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors.

Additionally, Betancourt is a member of the Hidalgo County Appraisal District Board of Directors and the ENACTUS Advisory Board.
