How many cookies does it take to fund a scholar?

Chick-fil-A restaurants across the Valley are teaming up for a weeklong fundraiser this upcoming week to support VAMOS Scholars.

VAMOS Scholars, or the Valley Alliance of Mentors for Opportunities and Scholarships, are dedicated to making local high school seniors’ college education dreams a reality.

The organization strives to increase the number of students prepared for, enrolled in and completing a post-secondary education by providing them with renewable financial assistance for up to four years or until graduation from college.

During the week of April 10 through April 15, participating restaurants will donate a portion of proceeds — up to $20,000 — to VAMOS Scholars for each Chocolate Chunk Cookie sold.

You read that right. You can help out a graduating senior by buying either a single cookie or the 6-pack at any Chick-fil-A in the Valley.

“We are so proud to come together in support of VAMOS Scholars, an incredible organization that is helping graduating high school seniors in our community achieve their goal of getting a college education,” David Alcocer, Operator of Chick-fil-A in Rio Grande City, said in the release. “We hope our neighbors will come out to show their support by enjoying a Chocolate Chunk Cookie.”
