A 48-year-old Monte Alto resident after crashing into a tractor-trailer that was backing into a private drive early Friday morning.
In a news release, the Texas Department of Public Safety said the two-vehicle crash happened at 12:06 a.m. on F.M. 2812 west of Engelmen Gardens Road just west of Monte Alto.
The preliminary investigation revealed a 1999 truck tractor Frieghtliner towing a utility trailer by one man was backing into a private drive off of F.M. 2812.
Meanwhile, a 2020 Nissan Rogue driven by Melissa De Leon was traveling eastbound on F.M. 2812 when she hit the Freightliner.
She died at the scene.
DPS continues to investigate the fatal accident.
