EDINBURG — Authorities are investigating a suspicious container that was found outside the ER entrance/exit at DHR Health Thursday morning.
The emergency management team at DHR Health was alerted around 9 a.m. Thursday about a suspicious white Styrofoam container with a dark liquid inside that was found outside the building.
The Edinburg Fire department and Pharr Hazmat teams arrived at the scene to assess the situation, according to a DHR Health press release.
The area in which the container was found was closed off and remains under investigation.
As of now no hazardous material was detected, according to the release.
The hospital remains open to the public and ensures that there is no immediate danger to patients, visitors or staff.
